I am a life long resident of Chicago and I am very happy to have the opportunity to showcase many of the exciting and entertaining attractions this great city has to offer. As a big fan of pop music and pop culture I am excited about seeing how Chicago is on the cutting edge of what is happening in the world.
While pop culture is an enjoyable hobby, I am also very passionate about my work as the Housing Assistance Manager at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. I have been there for the last 10 years dedicated to trying to help low income people obtain Homeless Prevention Funds and to remain stably housed with other rental subsidies. I strongly believe that affordable housing options need to be accessible and transparent for low income people. That is why I worked very hard to develop Direct2Housing. It’s a website where anyone in the community can find the contact information, eligibility criteria and application process for supportive housing options.
I keep myself pretty busy when I’m not at work doing some of my favorite activities. I like to be up on my feet and moving. Every Monday night I usually go to Charlie’s where they teach a country line dance lesson as well as 2-stepping lessons. It’s a very fun evening where I can visit with friends and do some of my favorite dances. My enjoyment of Country Dancing has lead to my involvement with a group called the Windy City Cowboys. We are a performance group that entertains the crowds at events such as the Pride Parade, Halsted Street Market days and the Windy City Rodeo.
